Super Beta Prostate: A complementary Prostatitis Treatment

Prostatitis basically results when the prostate gland swells. This can either be due to bacterial infection or otherwise. Quite often, a lot of practitioners decide on a prostatitis treatment that uses antibiotics before conclusively determining the cause. This is indeed one of the reasons why this condition has been so hard to treat. Also, it is important to understand that prostatitis problem results in blockage of the vessels. This makes it very difficult to cure the problem until the blockages are broken.

In a nutshell, there is really no single solution to the problem. This is because the success of the treatment is dependent on a lot of factors which include: your medical history and your unique situation in relation to your general health. Having said that, many men are reporting success with a natural treatment called Super Beta Prostate. However, as you undergo prostatitis treatment, here are some of the factors that you really need to take into consideration.

You need to take plenty of water. This may sound as unimportant to many people. However, it is shocking to learn that a huge percentage of people are dehydrated. This is a very dangerous situation as water is needed in cleaning the urinary tract which is very important during prostatitis treatment. It really does not matter what type of prostatitis you are suffering from – whether bacterial or non bacterial, you need to take a lot of water.

In order to hasten the recovery, you must try as much as possible to avoid stress. Research has shown that a lot of people fail to recover for years simply because they are worried about their condition. You need to realize that prostatitis treatment can only be effective if you are calm. To achieve this, you can resort to participation in activities that you enjoy during your free time. Also, it would be a good idea if you create time for physical exercise as this too has positive impact on the health of your prostate. To reiterate the previous findings, super beta prostate is an effective treatment for many people, we recommend looking into super beta.

Massage can be very useful in complementing prostatitis treatment. It is interesting to note that massage has been used in treating prostatitis for a very long time with a lot of success. If you have been suffering from chronic treatment, do not continue to risk the side effects that are cause by antibiotics. Instead, resort to massage. Last but not least, you need to start having sex more often. This has a lot of positive effect on the health of the prostate. Research has it that regular sex significantly prevents men from contracting prostatitis. Super beta prostate has been found to benefit men who suffer from erectile dysfunction. What You Can Do With Table Mate

Tables are necessities in the house but not all of them provide the same functionalities. You could get surprised that a modest-sized table that is folded and stored in one corner of the house or under the sofa is actually the most serviceable. What I am referring to is the Table Mate. Advertisements describe it as a ‘transformable table that slides to you’.

Table Mate is a portable table that is ideal for anything you need a table surface for whether indoor or outdoor. It can be adjusted to 6 different heights and 3 angles so whether you use it for having your meals, working on the computer, writing, drawing, playing, or anything else, it can easily be accustomed to your preference and requirement. It also comes with a built-in and adjustable cupholder that whatever angle or position your table is in, your bottle or cup of drink stays in place. This is a smart feature as the problem with using portable tables especially for eating is the risk of making a mess.

While it may look a bit flimsy because it is made of plastic, it is actually well-built and can hold heavy items up to 50 pounds. With L-shaped legs, the Table Mate is a sturdy structure that easily slides over any surface unlike cross legged tables that get stuck in the rug and make you spill your food or drinks.  So for those moments you feel like having dinner while watching your favorite game, you can use the table, slide it to you and enjoy.

Members of the family with limited mobility or aging parents can surely enjoy the benefits of Table Mate. You use and keep it without stressing a muscle as it is very light. It is a good companion when you are sick. You can eat in bed without making a mess and you can still use your laptop and do your work conveniently.

Little tykes will surely love it as well. Since the table’s height and angle are adjustable, you can modify it according to the child’s position and activity. You can have it in the kids’ bedroom to play or draw on.

Many people use it outdoors too. You can bring it with you to picnics or other activities outside the house. It will not eat too much space inside the car compartment since it folds flat.

Additionally, it is very practical for those with limited space. This table is a great alternative if you are living in an apartment or if your room does not allow you the liberty to use a traditional desk. You use it when you need it and store it when done. It easily folds flat and you can stack it for convenience.

With its many uses and practical design it is easy to conclude that this product works and is something worth buying. Having one or two in the house would definitely be useful even if you do not find it necessary at the moment. Once you have it, you would be amazed what many things you can do with this innovative product.

Homes Grow Old With Care

Ten years ago, the term ‘sheltered housing’ was known to very few people. Now, according to a survey commissioned from Marplan by a company operating in the field, no fewer than 76% of elderly people understand its meaning. This is all to the good, since it is designed specifically for them.

REACH_HHC

Sheltered housing has been defined by the House-Builders Federation as ‘housing which is purpose built or converted exclusively for sale to the elderly, with a package of management services and which consists of grouped, self-contained accommodation with an emergency alarm system, usually with communal facilities and normally with a resident warden’.

People of retirement age have always faced decisions about where to live, but traditionally these have concerned over-large or inconvenient house, lack of funds or illness. They could buy a smaller house, move in with sons or daughters, or go into a residential home.

The expansion of the sheltered home market in the past five years gives them many more options because developments vary. Some offer community facilities while independence and privacy are top priorities at others; yet others range from blocks of flats to expensive ‘villages’.

Variety brings its own problems, however. There is no national specification for sheltered housing, no standard leases or management agreements. The HBF recently congratulated itself on the way the private house-building industry has reacted to demand, but the charity Age Concern was more circumspect. Together with the National Housing and Town Planning Council, it published a new edition of its Buyer’s Guide to Sheltered Housing late last year. This is intended to help elderly people ask the right questions before committing themselves.

Practical considerations include both the internal and external design of the scheme. Some developments will offer communal laundry rooms, social rooms, guest accommodation and visiting services such as hairdressers and chiropodists; others, will minimize the ‘sheltered’ atmosphere, perhaps calling the warden a caretaker and sometimes not even housing him/her on site. Most will warn that they do not provide nursing services.

The Age Concern/NHTPC booklet has some useful information on the financial aspect of buying a sheltered home. Many schemes are straightforward, available on long leases with a clearly defined service charge for the upkeep of communal areas and the exterior of buildings. Should residents want to move, they can sell on the open market, through an agent of their choice, provided the next occupant is a certain minimum age, usually 55. In the case of highly desirable developments, it is often simpler to arrange the sale through the developer, since there may be a waiting list. Household products may also be provided but depending on other services that they offer.

There are payment methods available for those who cannot afford cash purchases or mortgage repayments. These include loan stock arrangements in which you buy a lifetime’s interest in a sheltered home with a capital sum representing far less than its full value; but on your death none of the sum is returnable.

The flea plague is coming, stop it with Riddex

If the first cuckoo heralds the beginning of spring, the first flea bite marks the height of summer. But the time to start searching our pets for fleas is now. Once we find them, we must resist the urge to swat them. Instead, wrap them in Sellotape, pop them in an envelope and send them off to scientific research.

Around_the_Clock_Pest_Control

We must do this to honor Flea Awareness Week, which starts at the beginning of May. “We will give all fleas sent to us a decent burial and we will use them to get an indication of where fleas are hatching first,” says a spokeswoman for the week. “The idea is not to do anything necessarily scientific, but to make people realize that they have fleas all the year round and to deal with them in the early stages before a full-scale infestation starts.”

While bed bugs, ants, cockroaches and other household pests are all in decline, the Ctenocephalides felis, or the cat flea (which also lives on dogs) seems unstoppable. The latest figures available, 52,704 people called in a council pest control officer to fumigate their home, a rise of 71 per cent on the previous year.

Vets believe that virtually every cat and dog in the country will be affected by fleas at some stage.

Why are fleas so widespread? According to Dr John Maunder, of Riddex Plus, who admits modestly to knowing more about fleas than most of us, our badly-ventilated homes are to blame. Also at fault are our thick carpets and soft furnishings all ideal conditions for flea eggs to flourish cozily.

Another factor is a recent run of mild winters that the fleas have loved. Even last winter qualified as warm, it seems, because we had no prolonged frosty periods.  There have been a lot of preventive measures made in order to control pests at home one of each is riddex which is proven effective and efficient to use by most households.

Each adult flea lays up to 500 eggs in its lifetime, which turn into larvae resembling little segmented worms. These live in the house, feeding on tiny bits of skin, wool and other organic goodies until they pupate and finally hatch into jumping, blood-sucking adult fleas.

They will not go to seek their prey, but will wait for as long as eight months for an animal to come to them. While waiting they have been known to jump 10,000 times without stopping, hoping to hit upon something juicy.

There is a vast arsenal of anti-flea powders, sprays, collars and traps, but none of these can prevent fleas from thriving. They will merely kill those living on your pet pests which would have died in a day or so anyway, worn out by a frenzy of breeding. They have no effect on the thousands of larvae produced in this orgy, which are nestling safe in our carpets and curtains.

Household spraying works better, but lavish use of insecticides brings the risk of the creation of a super-flea, resistant to all attackers. The United States has one such flea already and we can expect our own version at any moment.

So must we resign ourselves to a summer of itchy ankles? Not, according to Dr Maunder, if we give our pets Program, a new pill prescribed by vets.“It’s quite exciting,” he says. “The pill is sucked up by fleas and a little bit goes into the egg, weakening the developing the larvae to such an extent that it never survives. As far as we know it does absolutely nothing to us or the pets.” If the pill is started in spring, and all the animals in the house are treated, fleas should no longer be a problem.

Before we run off to claim this wonder drug, we can comfort ourselves that animal fleas do not like humans. Our blood prevents them from breathing properly and they jump onto us as a last resort. As soon as they have eaten enough they jump off again. Their bites may be uncomfortable but they are not dangerous. “The worst harm fleas do is mental and social,” says Dr Maunder. “People who have fleas are very inhibited about inviting friends around.”

That is if they notice they have fleas, repeated biting desensitizes us and often it is new visitors to a home who suffer the worst. Dr Maunder says: “People like vicars and gas meter inspectors who have to visit a lot of strange homes find that shiny wellington boots are a good defense  The flea can only jump about a foot in height and it bounces off the rubber.”

Scientists warn low-calorie diets are dangerous

Curbs on the promotion and use of very low calorie slimming diets will be called for by government scientific advisers in a report due out soon.

The diets have taken off hugely in the last five years and have been sold to more than half a million Britons. Now a working group of the government’s Committee on Medical Aspects of Food Policy (Coma) warns that they could be harmful.

healthy-body

But the criticism was rejected yesterday by Dr John Marks, medical adviser to the Cambridge Diet, one of the best-known and most controversial of the very low calorie diets. He says that new evidence to be presented to the health department will challenge the basis on which Coma decided the diets may be hazardous.

In its report, the Coma working group advises that those using the diets for more than a few weeks, or taking repeated courses at short intervals, should only do so under medical supervision. They should also be used only as a last resort, after less drastic slimming methods have failed.

Even then, the report states, ‘there is no evidence that very low calorie regimes are more likely to achieve enduring weight loss than conventional weight-reducing diets (that is, calorie-counting ones).

The findings of the working group, chaired by Harry Keen, professor of human metabolism at Guy’s Hospital, London, have been broadly approved by the main committee and are expected to be published in the next few weeks.

The very low calorie diets are defined in the report as commercially-produced nutrient preparations with an energy value of less than 600 calories a day, and marketed for use as a total food substitute. They come as flavoured powders, which are mixed with water.

The Cambridge Diet includes the total daily needs of the body for vitamins, minerals and trace elements, and a supply of essential amino acids and fatty acids. Yet three cups a day of this meal-substitute give a total of only 330 calories.

The Coma group says that when the diets include 100% of the recommended daily allowances of vitamins and minerals and other vital substances, immediate risks to health are negligible.

Woman-Running-on-Beach

However, the lower the calories in the diets, the greater are the penalty paid for the accelerated weight loss: as well as burning off stored fat, there are increased losses of other tissues, including muscle and possibly body organs and bone. If such damage does occur, it could lead to problems such as a weakened heart.

This view is rejected by Marks, the adviser to the Cambridge diet. He says new evidence will show that the method used to measure the loss of non-fat body tissues is fundamentally flawed. Rather than indicating loss of muscle or vital organs, he said, the extra losses seen on very low calorie diets were nothing than fluid.

Wart Problems: Essential oil proven to be good for the skin

Cod-liver oil, whether provided by the welfare services or handed out by matron at a British prep school, became part of the diet of children and reached the peak of its popularity as a preventive health measure during the Second World War.

The discovery of vitamins A and D in fish oil in the first quarter of the 20th century provides the scientific explanation for many of the advantages which seem to arise from its use, particularly its power to prevent rickets and improve the condition of the skin and nails. It was assumed that these vitamins accounted for the observation by the Victorian dermatologist, Dr T.Fox, that “if eczema be present cod-liver oil must be given”. In fact, the full story now seems more complicated.

In the research workers became fascinated by the fact that although Eskimos had a diet high in fat, and low in vitamin C and fibre, they had little coronary heart disease, hypertension, rheumatoid arthritis or psoriasis, an inflammatory skin condition. Scientists soon discovered that as well as providing vitamins A and D, fish oil was rich in the essential fatty acids of the Omega 3 group, which included the fat, EPA, found in oily fish, mackerel, salmon, herrings and trout. It has now been established that, provided a diet is not overladen with saturated fats, such as the bacon and eggs of the British breakfast, supplements of EPA taken in the form of concentrated fish oil, has a cardio-protective effect.

Woman applying eye cream

This is partly achieved by the lowering of the amount of the lower density cholesterol in the body and increasing the proportion of the helpful higher density cholesterol, and partly by its ability to inhibit the stickiness of the small blood cells, the platelets, thereby reducing the tendency of blood to clot and hence form a thrombosis, which can cause a heart attack. EPA also lowers the triglycerides, another potentially dangerous blood fat. A diet rich in fish oil even seems to reduce the number of attacks, and their severity, of angina in a patient with coronary heart disease.

Medical interest is now extending to the effect of fish oil on the skin. Doctors are heeding the advice given by Dr Fox 112 years ago, but they have found that it is not only the vitamins in cod-liver oil which are beneficial to the skin, but also the EPA in the fish oil. The amount of vitamins A and D which can be taken has to be carefully controlled, whereas it seems the more fish oil consumed the better. Several studies have shown a modest improvement in cases of psoriasis treated with fish oil, but the most striking effect has recently been reported by American workers in the British Journal of Dermatology. They showed that when fish oil was combined with exposure to UBV treatment, the skin lesions shrank appreciably.

Toes are tops with Easy Feet

Feet have never been so pampered or so on show, says Jan Masters

footcare

It had to happen. Fast running out of body parts to thrust into the glare of the cameras, celebrities have taken to flashing their feet -especially since many of this season’s sandals have the teeniest, tiniest straps and skyscraper heels. Heat magazine’s recent lowdown on celebrity feet was mesmerizing  not least because it revealed that even Gwyneth Paltrow and Catherine Zeta-Jones have bits of their bodies that are far from ideal -unlike Rachel Weisz, whose feet score a perfect ten after using Easy Feet.

A transfixing array of what amounted to bondage wear for toes tottered down the red carpet at the recent British Soap Awards. The prize for the most festooned feet in the Street went to Tracy Shaw, who not only strutted her stuff in sex-kitten sandals but added a silver ankle bracelet and matching toe ring for good measure.

But even when the flatties are out in force, celebs are refusing to look down at heel. Madonna is mad on upmarket mules, while Jerry Hall adores her jewel-encrusted flip-flops. (Although Billie Piper’s decision to marry in slip-sloppy sandals rather than click-clack heels is unlikely to set a trend for dress-down weddings.) In New York, of course, they are several steps ahead -the latest feet treatments include having fat injected into the foot pads to make the wearing of heels less excruciating. We may not have reached that level of obsession, but the result of this summer’s fetish for fancy feet has been a stampede to nail bars for pedicures. Helen Harvey, the head of operations at Nails Inc, reports that bright Barbie pinks are the hottest shades this season. “Women are becoming so toe-conscious; they’re getting our therapists to match shade to shoe.” For the more adventurous, Harvey says that nail art is a growing trend – a very fine brush is used to paint on delicate butterflies and flowers. But for nail enamel that really goes the distance, ask for the Everlasting Polish -a colored gel is applied and then bonded to the nail under a UV lamp, making it batter-resistant for up to six weeks.

For more peel-me-a-grape pampering, try the Easy Foot, which includes a salt scrub to exfoliate dry skin and a marine mask to soothe and smooth -all so your tootsies will look better in your Jimmy Choos. Which is ironic really, because it is stilettos and open-toed wedges that make your feet feel like hell in the first place. High heels force the feet forward, increasing pressure on the toes, which can lead to calluses and corns. “We don’t take foot care seriously enough,” says Michael Keet, a Covent Garden podiatrist who treats a lot of ballerinas. For DIY care, Keet recommends gently buffing with medium-grade sandpaper (seriously) before massaging cream well into your skin. “Almost any cream will do -it’s the massage that works the magic.”

The latest massage tool from the aroma therapist Judith White is the crystal wand. After soaking your feet in a bowl of warm water laced with essential oils of peppermint and lime, you work the wand into the arches and stroke it over the soles. The point? The instant stimulation of your body’s chakras.
